Abstract
"The Bonn Identity" is a senior thesis project for the Lee Honors College. This project pulls from three different disciplines offered at Western Michigan University: General Business, German, and Computer Information Systems. "The Bonn Identity" is a webpage that contains the diary of an American student while studying abroad in Bonn, Germany. The website also features useful links about Bonn, study abroad and language learning. A unique component of the project is a forum where students can meet to discuss study abroad.
The purpose of this project is to help students who have studied, are studying, or will study abroad. This paper includes details about the three major subject areas used by this project: marketing, German, and computer information systems. The focus of the marketing section is the way in which the target market was made aware of the project's existence. The content of the website and the faculty involvement from the German department at Western Michigan University are then reviewed. Lastly, the technical aspect of the website's development is examined. This project is intended to inspire students to expand their horizons and enhance their understanding of global diversity.
