Abstract

As the twenty-first century approaches, computers are becoming increasingly important in all areas of life. As this trend continues, the tools that are used to create applications become increasingly important. Computer programming languages, the tools with which programmers create applications, have evolved a great deal since the advent of the Information Age and they will continue to evolve in years to come. The languages that are used to create and maintain applications affect how business is done, how data is processed, and how computer applications will evolve.
