Abstract
The 1920s were a decade of stark contrasts and dramatic upheaval in American society. Everything from work to sexual morality changed at a heart-pumping pace. U.S. soldiers had returned from Europe, still young but now worldly-wise and ready to share their experiences of the First World War. In the meantime, women's roles had changed, for by 1920 they had become full-fledged voters and a powerful political force to be reckoned with.
