Abstract
There are a variety of things that are necessary to consider when a professor is preparing to teach a class at the university level. One of the most important of these is choosing an appropriate textbook for the class, one that will cover the key concepts and adequately explain the content in a manner that increases the overall learning of the college student. At Western Michigan University (WMU) in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a physiology (BIOS 240) professor is currently choosing a new textbook for her students to use. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the process by which this new textbook was chosen and to compare its advantages and disadvantages with the other textbook options
