Abstract

You never believe, that in a near death experience, your life flashes before your eyes - at least I didn't. And I definitely didn't think it happened in the Hollywood, split-second fashion you always see in the movies, or hear about on TV. I imagine that could be the case if you see an inevitable collision before it happens, or you stare a gun in the face from point blank range. But when you're standing on the ledge of a 42-floor high rise in the heart of downtown Chicago, you have time to contemplate things in a much more elaborate fashion.
