Abstract

Distance learning has traditionally been defined as a learning situation in which the teacher and the learner are separated by some physical distance. This has applied to people who live too far from a campus or have too little time to attend classes at a campus. This has primarily been accomplished by audio- or video-tape correspondence courses supplemented by written communication between the students and the instructor.
