Abstract
The purpose of this paper is a short exposition and interpretation of the metaphysics of Alfred North Whitehead, insofar as it is evident in Religion in the Making. This book was not written for the purpose of proposing a metaphysics, but instead as an application of systematic concepts to religious experience and as an interpretation of the historical development of religion. Thus, although this system is no doubt complete, certain elements necessary for a lucid understanding of his metaphysics are either lacking or are stated in the context of the discussion of religion.
