Abstract
Sakyamuni Buddha came to this life for only one purpose: to show us the Buddha nature and the way to liberation from suffering. Everywhere Shakyamuni saw people in the "bad states of mind". All too often, we devote our lives to ignoring rather than working on these states, which keep us in the realm of suffering. Sakyamuni Buddha discovered how human ill being works. He found the root of suffering to be within the mind. All his teachings related to the fact suffering may be overcome and transcended. "Therefore, he was called the great physician and his teaching, the Dharma is the supreme medicine that relieves all mental pain" (Hua, 1977).
