Abstract

In the summer of 1972, the vegetation of a bog in the Yankee Springs Recreation Area was studied. Only two southwestern Michigan bogs have been studied previously (Brewer, 1966; Crow, 1969) and neither was studied as to the species of Sphagnum. This study was done to contribute to the work on the vegetation of southwestern Michigan and to provide information on a State-owned area with potential for protection as a natural area.
