Abstract
The purpose of research on this paper is to enable the author to have a working knowledge of the definition, the operation, and the various applications of Electronic Funds Transfer System (EFTS). As the author is specifically interested in the retail banking application of EFTS, a major portion of this paper is devoted to the study of automated teller machines (ATMS), debit cards, and preauthorized transactions. These are among the electronic funds trans fer elements banks use in providing services to consumers today.
