Abstract
I took part in the Mexican-American History Project in conjunction with work on my undergraduate honors thesis through Western Michigan University during my senior year. My thesis advisor, also a WMU professor and Project committee member, suggested that I be a student volunteer/participant in the first year of this project to help lay the foundation for my initial thesis work. I agreed to work as a volunteer classroom teacher one day per week for a semester. Aside from observing and journaling for my thesis project, my general duties included teaching and continuing project lessons, as well as assisting students and other educators and guest professionals.
