Abstract
Abstract: Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity (KVHH) is a nonprofit organization that builds and repairs homes in partnership with qualified, working families. The purpose of this social media marketing campaign was to promote KVHH’s annual "Habi Hour” party, which is the organization's largest fundraising event. This involved designing a new logo, creating custom print materials, developing a communication plan, and establishing social media event pages. All design materials integrated a Mardi Gras theme and followed Habitat for Humanity’s official brand guidelines, as per the KVHH board’s inspiration. The centerpiece of the project was a one-page website, http://habihour.org , which showcases a clean, responsive layout and flat design.
The Habi Hour event took place on February 27, 2017. The grand total raised from marketing efforts, ticket sales, and silent and live auctions was $38,100.76. All funds raised went towards building or improving homes for low-income families in the Kalamazoo community.
