Abstract
Management science and operations research was a booming academic discipline after World War II and has since faded into obscurity. Once a principal part of undergraduate business programs and a requirement by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), this area has now been roped into other academic areas and removed from AACSB requirements. This paper looks into the undergraduate curriculums of the top 20 business schools as ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek and examines what trends are currently demonstrated by the highest ranked business programs for undergraduates. Statistics and business analytics will be looked at as the complementary fields for management science and operations research. The implications for management science and operations research as an academic discipline are bleak but many important aspects are still being recognized and taught in undergraduate business curriculum.
