Abstract
Individuals diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Developmental Disabilities (DD) are commonly prescribed psychotropic medications with the purpose of improving mood and cognitive skills and reducing challenging behaviors. However, in addition to potential therapeutic effects, psychotropic drugs can produce unwanted and potentially counterproductive physiological and behavioral side effects. These side effects can further be exacerbated if prescribed multiple psychotropic medications. The purpose of this study was to describe the results of a descriptive analysis of drug interaction effects conducted with a small behavioral consultative organization.
