Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic was a period of having to stay indoors, being clean, and for students, doing all of their schoolwork online. The purpose of this study was to see how COVID-19 affected these students’ motivation. The research method consisted of an online survey with quantitative questions using Likert scales and 1-10 scales gauging students’ feelings on each statement or question. Respondents were students who attend Western Michigan University, and these students were primarily upperclassmen who are around the age of 22. According to the results of the survey, students not only experienced a loss in motivation, but also experienced negative mental health symptoms and a general displeasure with the level of education and the college experience they received.
