Abstract

This thesis is a collection of 12 lesson plans designed for a kindergarten classroom. The goal of these lessons is to show how picture books can be incorporated in order to meet the Michigan State Standards. While this unit can be used consecutively, it can also be broken up to fit into the school curriculum. Picture books can be great resources for students. If you have a clear objective, you can pull a lot of valuable examples from them.
