Abstract
The investment climate for foreign investment looks favorable and attractive for two reasons: 1) soundness of the Malaysian economy - the Malaysian economy has been steadily growing since the implementation of the First Malaysia Plan in 1966 (1966-1970). Today in the midst of the Third Malaysia Plan, the conditions and trends of the economy seems very favorable, especially to foreign investors. This is because Malaysia has adopted an accelerated industrial development strategy depending largely on the private sector to play the major role, and facilitate this goal. The Central Bank of Malaysia has also complemented this effort with a liberal expansion of the money supply and lowering of the prime interest rate.
