Abstract
The adolescent population is growing at an overwhelming rate. This population, with help from the media, has brought an expanded list of concerns to society including drug use and abuse, increased criminal activity, sexual misconduct and absence or withdrawal from public education. For females, this list also includes pregnancy. Teen pregnancy has become a growing trend, more commonly a well respected and admired fad, a rite of passage among young women; girls as young as 12 and 12 years of age are becoming pregnant. The author had the opportunity to work with many at-risk adolescent females where she attempted to uncover the best teaching techniques to be used in outreach.
