Abstract
Directory of services for speech, language, and hearing in the Kalamazoo, Michigan, area. This resource guide is designed as a comprehensive reference tool and a source of general information regarding organizations or agencies which may be helpful for educational or referral purposes. The initial section of the guide lists services and support systems that encompass a broad range of general communication needs. Following this section, a sub-division into major headings is presented to address specific communication disorders. A definition describing causes, characteristics, and/or possible treatments is listed under each heading. Terms related to disorders are bold to denote terms contained in a glossary in Appendix A. This guide has been written in response to the observed need for increased information, cooperation, communication, and collaboration among professionals in the speech and hearing sciences.
