Abstract
Thesis seeks to answer questions such as:
- "What can I begin doing to prepare me for the first teaching job of my professional career?"
- "What will help me to be as effective of first year teacher as possible?
The paper is focused on several subjects: 1) learning from others' experiences, 2) preparing for a job interview/researching the school system and community, 3) preparing for the first day of school, 4) having a well-managed, safe classroom environment and, 5) being a role model and teaching children how to be caring citizens. Includes interviews with teachers.
