Abstract
Methods of performing a priori calculations of molecular properties have long been sought by scientists. Being able to predict, in advance of experience, the properties of molecules would greatly enhance the search for knowledge in all fields of chemistry. The purpose of this experiment is to use an alternate method of molecular minimization, the Steepest Descent Method, as developed by Powell and Fletcher.
