Abstract
The label "renaissance man" is often used in modern society to describe an individual who has varied interests, many useful skills, and a wealth of knowledge. He is well versed in any number of subjects, and confident in his abilities A producer of television needs to be a type of "renaissance man." The job requires knowledge in many areas, and a producer must be prepared to encounter budgets and contracts, craft and technical personnel, legal considerations, and many other aspects of a television production. This accumulation of knowledge, and the ability to use it effectively, is the key to becoming a successful producer.
