Abstract
The scope of environmental challenges straddles every field of knowledge, from childcare and consumer information to nuclear weapons and international relations. The term 'environmental protection' cannot be narrowed to any specific field or piece of legislation. Instead, it is the protection of the natural world through the combined efforts of individuals who care. This networking and knowledge sharing can take the form of a single individual' responsibility to the goals of a governmental organization. This report portrays environmental protection from the perspective of the ruling body in Germany, the Federal Government. Within the Federal Environment Ministry many skilled people come together to offer up new alternatives, possibilities and solutions to otherwise irresolvable issues.
