Abstract
Artists and educators have been advocating for the arts to be used in the schools across the country for a number of years. Similarly, there is a push for curriculum reform and studies are calling for more experiential learning opportunities. Drama is experiential by its very nature. Gavin Bolton, a well-known pioneer in Educational Theatre says that "drama has a great deal to do with pedagogy because it is an art... the richness lies in its potential to achieve change of understanding (a pedagogic objective)" ("Drama in education and TIE," Jackson, 40.) The project documented herein seeks to combine theatre and education, to explore ways of using the tools of drama as a means of learning.
