Abstract
I decided to investigate the depth of parental participation in various settings. To begin this exploration, I observed a special education school in Mexico. During the observations, I noted parents within the school and the ways they were participating. I also prepared a short survey for the teachers and parents. The questions within the survey were meant to gauge how often the parents were present in the child's classroom, in what type of activities the parents were involved, and what feelings they held about that level of involvement. The survey provided to the teachers questioned the type of parental support they feel they receive and their feelings about parents participating in the classroom.
