Winners of the first Best Midwestern High School Writing competition in 2013 are listed below. This is an initiative by the Lee Honors College and the Department of English at Western Michigan University—supported by the Third Coast Writing Project—to invite high school teachers from across disciplines to nominate students who have displayed exemplary writing for a prestigious public recognition and cash reward.
