Chapter I
Introduction to the Thesis
This thesis is concerned with developing a teacher's guide for a one-semester basic course in speech suitable for all college students. This first chapter deals with the statement of the problem, the method of procedure, the scope of speech, the need for speech facility in life, and an overview of the thesis.
