Description
Hunter Hensley, Cantor/Chanter, will perform medieval chant and early French song at this Special Performance Session. In addition to solo chant performances at international musicological conferences, Hensley has recorded Gregorian chant for Richard Crocker, A Gregorian Archive, Emeritus Press, Berkeley, CA, and Occitan and 12-14thth c. French song, for Judith Peraino, Giving Voice to Love, Oxford University Press, NY.
The Medieval Congress performance will include Gregorian chant, Conductus, Cantio, Planctus, Troubadour & Trouvère song, 14th c. Monophonic motet, Pastourelle, and Virelai. Hensley will also play the Kinnor lyre, in his dramatic performance of Peter Abelard’s 12th century lamentation, Planctus David.
