Description

This session is intended as a panel discussion on the so-called "shrew play" tradition in early English drama before Shakespeare. Participants are scholars and teachers in the field. Two of them are also performers. Participants will give short presentations, responding to the performances and to a common reading (an essay from forthcoming MLA volume on teaching _Taming of the Shrew_). After those remarks, the moderator will lead the panel in discussing key points and invite all attendees of the session to enter into the discussion.
