Description

This session examines medieval literary, cartographic and visual representations of small-scale, ordinary and quotidian locations such as a doorway, an alcove or a gutter. It interrogates the ambiguity such representations by asking how microspaces can produce identity, promote topophilia, and/or foster oppositional stances.
