The purpose of these sessions is to contribute to a better understanding of the role played by the lower and middle clergy in the ecclesiastical and social life of the late antique West. The speakers will deal with diverse aspect of the life and function the presbyters, deacons and other clerics, but a special emphasis will be put on their relations with their superiors, either in diocese or monastery.
