Papers will discuss current work in the reconstruction of MSS and printed books through multi-spectral imaging, Photoshop, and digital manipulation, as well as scholarly projects focusing on one text (Bede's Historia Ecclesiastica), a corpus of texts (medieval romance), and MS fragments in an important but little-known collection. The session aims to raise questions about lost texts and to highlight a range of recovery methods.
