Description
What could you do if you had access to millions of images of medieval materials from institutions around the world in a common format and easy-to-use software? No matter what institution you attend or teach at, the International Image Interoperability Framework makes it possible to re-use and remix materials from national libraries and museums, major university collections, or libraries that may only have one or two medieval leaves. Benjamin Albritton
This workshop focuses on making it easy to develop classroom projects and examples using IIIF materials, whether you are familiar with IIIF or a complete novice. From simple comparison examples, to more complicated narrative presentations, to creating teaching collections and engaging in collaborative analysis, together we will create a number of IIIF-powered teaching tools that can be used at your home institution and adjusted for your specific pedagogical goals.
Participants are asked to bring their own wi-fi enabled laptop. No programming experience is required or expected.
