Description
Not only has Merlin remained one of the most visible members of the Arthurian personnel over the centuries, he has also, during the last sixty years (or a bit more) become a true “hero with a thousand faces”, assuming all kinds of personas, each more incompatible with his medieval archetype. Whether he dons the mantle of the wise druid, fighting against the priests of a new religion, or on the contrary assimilates the salient traits of the darkest necromancer, Merlin demonstrates an amazing flexibility. This session will try to explore some of the most breathtaking metamorphoses of the mage. Anne Berthelot
