Description
“Secondary School as a Second Career” will be a round table discussion on the academic job market broadly seen that addresses the increasingly important question of whether and how to make the transition to secondary school teaching. This discussion will speak to the pedagogical and practical considerations of making this transition as a Medievalist, as well as some of the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of secondary schools, ranging from independent college preparatory academies to urban schools to international schools. This session will be discussion rather than presenatation based, offering a robust conversation engaging all who wish to contribute by posing questions and offering solutions about the challenges inherent in making this professional step.
