Abstract
This article features the Amitabha Drukpa Nunnery in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, a Tibetan Buddhist religious community and their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The article details the nuns daily lives, rituals, doctrine, and practices, including Kung-Fu, community outreach, gender empowerment, and horror films. The article features nuns Jigme Yeshe Lhamo and Jigme Yangchen Ghamo of the nunnery, in addition to Live to Love International’s former president Carrie Lee.
