Abstract
This article discusses Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly involving nationalism, propaganda, and marginalized populations. The article focuses on xenophobia towards Chinese people living in India and the treatment of Muslim Communities in India amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Upper Castes of India are discussed, specifically as regards ideas of purity and hygiene.
