Abstract
This article by Dr. Jack Meng-Chia of the National University of Singapore focuses on the Buddhist festival of Vesak in Singapore and the transition from in-person celebration to virtual or online celebration. The article discusses the purpose of Vesak along with ways Buddhists can celebrate Vesak during COVID-19. The article features the Singapore Buddhist Federation (SBF), the Buddhist United Facebook page, the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, the Wat Ananda Metyarama temple, and Buddhist organizations such as Tzu Chi Foundation (慈济功德), Bliss and Wisdom Foundation (福智佛教基金会), Dharma Drum Mountain (法鼓山), and Fo Guang Shan (佛光山).
