Abstract
This article/opinion piece discusses the issue of mosques choosing to stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sharia law, specifically the preservation of life is discussed. The authors cite and quote the Prophet, along with Caliph Umar Ibn Khattab, in support of social distancing and closing mosques during the COVID-19 pandemic.
