Abstract
This article details an emergency order issued by Director Robert Gordon of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services impacting hospitals, funeral homes, and families of the deceased and the amount of time they have for arrangements and the disposition of the body during the COVID-19 pandemic. The article discusses issues such as embalming, storage of bodies, and the accidental misplacement of the deceased.
