Abstract
This article discusses the permission granted by state officials to certain Hindu groups allowing them to gather in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The article focuses on different Hindu groups and their celebrations during the pandemic including devotees of the Kadiri Narasimha Swamy Brahmotsavam and Ayodhya Ram Navami Mela. Additionally, the Hindu group Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) is detailed along with their puja rituals and the permission granted to them by the Uttar Pradesh government. The article also discusses the international response of Muslim and Christian communities to the COVID-19 pandemic.
