Abstract
This article discusses a controversial religious gathering in India during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with the increased Islamophobia since the event. The article features the Islamic missionary group Tablighi Jamaat which is responsible for the gathering. The article provides examples of recent Islamophobia found in social media and the news media, along with tensions between Muslims and the Indian government.
