Abstract
This article details the decision of Saudi Arabia to restrict the Hajj to only pilgrims already living in the country. The article explains the financial burden placed on Saudi Arabia due to the small scale of this year’s pilgrimage in addition to the potential criticism of the Saudi custodianship of the Hajj. Indonesia, Malaysia, Senegal and Singapore are mentioned in the article due to their decisions to withdraw from the Hajj.
