Abstract
This afterword links the essays in Performing Celebration; Celebrating Performance to both the historical study of medieval and early modern performance and today’s digital performative culture. Coletti and Pappano emphasize performance as a cross-temporal mode of cultural expression, connecting embodied premodern practices with the mediated visibility of social media. The piece underscores performance’s enduring power to shape community, negotiate social boundaries, and bridge past and present modes of participation.
