We have visited the Congress of the Dominican Republic; we took a tour of the building and met the President of the Senate. Because of this experience, I now know how bills are passed. I am now aware of the process that a bill must go through and how bills are voted on. Because of the study abroad experience, I’m now more comfortable working with students from other countries and engaging in conversation with those who speak another language than I do. Because of this experience, I will give back to my community and possibly go back to DR to give back. It showed me how simple it is to help others and put a smile on someone’s face.
