Statistics is the science of learning from data. No matter what you call them—statistician, financial analyst, market researcher, epidemiologist, actuary, survey researcher, data scientist—statisticians are a diverse group of people with one thing in common: they use statistics to draw valuable insights from data.
The Department of Statistics offers master's and Ph.D. programs in statistics, as well as a variety of undergraduate majors and minors, including a data analysis minor that may be completed without taking calculus.
