Psychology and Disability: Expanding Multicultural Horizons

Presentation Type

Symposium

Abstract

While multiculturalism has been referred to as psychology's "fourth force," less emphasis has been placed on people with disabilities. Utilizing conceptual, theoretical, and empirical findings, a persuasive case will be presented to bolster the claim for disability as a marginalized status worthy of greater inclusion in the multicultural movement.
