Abstract
Although abundant information is available that demonstrates proven ways to treat pain, patients are still reporting inadequate pain management. A possible explanation for this phenomenon relates to nurses' perceptions of pain management and the role the perception has on their practice. There is not much research about nurses' perception of the 0-10 scale, but it is essential to identify because nurses' opinions about the scale may influence practice.
