Abstract
Teen magazines are a specialty media produced for adolescent and teenage girls. Often referred to as teenzines, these social texts contain information about fashion, beauty, dating, and other teen oriented material. This study traces the historical development of teenzines, provides an overview of literature pertaining to the texts, and conducts focus groups with young girls in order to explore their perceptions and experiences with teenzines.
