Abstract
Many children's books have been challenged and banned over the years by people who show concern for children and young adults growing up in a risky society. It seems the society we live in so easily teeters between love and immorality that it is easy to lose hope. Many young people get off on the wrong track by getting involved with abusive and destructive behavior based on their irrational or uneducated ideas. Then censors try to come to their aid by pressing traditional values and conservative or religious views on them and by forcing them to read "good" books.
